Kirsty Mitchell has dedicated her Wonderland Photography series to the memory of the deceased's mother, Maureen, who lost his life to a brain tumor in 2008.

End of Kirsty Mitchell Maureen's mother was an English teacher who spent his life to be an inspiration for generations of children with stories and imaginative play. After the death of Maureen brain tumor in 2008, Kirsty channeled his grief into his love of photography.

Behind the camera lens and create Wonderland, a fantasy world smoother. Series of photography began as a small summer project but evolved into a creative journey inspirational. "Real life into places that are difficult to deal with, and I found myself back further into an alternative existence through a portal from my camera".

'Escape grew into the concept of creating a story book that can not be explained without words, which is dedicated to her [my mother], which will echo the fragments of tales she read to me constantly as a child.'

Kirsty, 36, who has a background in fashion and costume design, working with and make-up artist Elbie Van Eeden. Both work full time so they spend nights and weekends making props, wigs, and set on a shoestring budget and shot in the woods around the house Kirsty in Surrey.

Kirsty develop a deep bond and respect for the location where he was working and trying, through pictures, to 'remind people of their forgotten magic and beauty'.
He became fascinated with bags of wild flowers such as bluebells will appear in just a few short weeks. In some cases, he would wait a full 12 months so that he could shoot the costume tailored to the vivid colors of nature.

'All the characters come to me in my dreams, "he explained, but he delighted in the opportunity to go to the screen for real:' after all, it's not often you can stand next to a daughter eight feet in the rain, or see the dawn with a circus girl dancing on stage!"

The resulting images look so hyper-real that it is assumed that they were created in Photoshop. Many people believe the photos were shot all over the world, when in reality they were taken at locations within a short drive of his Surrey home.
So Kirsty started writing diaries and blogs shots behind the scenes account of the creation of each photo. "My goal is to illustrate the passage of time, an unspeakable journey through the four seasons, incorporating every color in the rainbow.

As things evolve, it becomes more complicated costume with props and new characters often take up to five months to make. 'The project evolved into a personal playground for us, "he said.
Her three-year labor of love has now almost completed and there are plans for the exhibition and accompanying book: "I only know that the day I saw my mother's name printed on the inside of the book Wonderland, she will feel like I have finally fulfilled my promise to myself themselves and valuable memory".
